    A primary residence can get a homestead exemption of up to $50,000 off its assessed value, and yearly increases in assessed value are then capped.

Which Florida towns does the Jack and Jill Team cover?

Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter Island, Jupiter Inlet Colony and Hobe Sound.

That is northern Palm Beach County and southern Martin County, from Juno Beach north to Hobe Sound.

Jupiter or Tequesta: where should I buy?

Jupiter has more choice of every kind of home; Tequesta is a smaller village, quieter, and built around the Loxahatchee River.

Jupiter has Harbourside Place on the Intracoastal and spring training at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Tequesta has the forks of the Loxahatchee, with Coral Cove Park on the barrier island to the east. Both give boaters a route to Jupiter Inlet.

Does Florida have a state income tax?

No. Florida has no state personal income tax.

Property taxes are set by the county and local taxing districts. A homestead exemption lowers the taxable value of a primary residence.

When is hurricane season, and how does it affect buying?

June 1 to November 30.

Insurers look at roof age, impact windows and wind mitigation features, and lenders require cover before closing. We get insurance quotes during your inspection period.
